Be an Effective Teen
Hello guys!
Something that I've learned is that school and life are hard. These "habits" from Sean Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, will help you effectively make the most of your high school career. I'm going to start a series about being "An Effective Teen" which goes more into detail with each habit.
Habit 1: "Be Proactive"
When you see a problem don't be a REACTIVE person be a PROACTIVE person. When faced with a hard task that seems almost impossible a reactive person----gives up with a huff and a cloud of negative words. When faced with a hard task that seems almost impossible a proactive person-----says "I Can Do It!" and then tries their best.
Habit 2: "Begin with the end in mind"
Have a plan and stick to it. Make S.M.A.R.T. plans
Habit 3: "Put First things First"
Learn to prioritize. Your ability to prioritize can make or break you in school, life and the working world.
Habit 4: "Think Win-Win"
Be positive. Don't let a setback keep you from following your passions.
Habit 5: "Seek first to understand, then to be understood"
Be a good listener. Don't be selfish. If you're upset about something, you'd want the person you're talking to listen instead of cutting you off and adding their ten cents. So, treat others the way you want to be treated.
Habit 6: "Synergize"
Be cooperative. Don't be that one person during the group project that does nothing at all just because they either don't feel like doing it or they aren't getting their way.
Habit 7: "Sharpen the Saw"
Give yourself some "me" time. "Sharpen" all parts of you: Body, Heart, Mind and Soul.
I hope you all liked these tips. There will be more in the future. Again these are habits from Sean Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens. I'm going to help you apply them to how life and school are now, seeing as this book was written and published in the 90s. The concepts will remain the same, but the way I explain it will be different. Have a Productive Day and Be Effective!
