For this article you'll need some paper, preferably a journal, and a pen. Now, close your eyes. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10? 15? Write it down.
-What are your goals? Are they Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely? Write them down.
Specific- What do you want to get done? How will you get it done? Who will be involved? Where will it happen? What do you need to accomplish it?
Measurable- Will I know when it is accomplished?
Achievable- Is it realistic? How can I get this done?
Relevant- Is this the right time to start? Is it worth it? Does this match my current level of experience? If not, what can I do to reach that level?
Timely- When will I finish? What can I do today? What can I have done in the next six weeks? 6 months?
Visualizing time again. Grab your notebook and pen and let's get started.
-What are your high school goals? College? Career? (Don't worry so much about College and Career if you are a freshman or a sophomore) Write it down.
-What are your talents? Will you pursue bettering them or making a career out of them? How will you pursue them? Write it down.
Look at all the goals and notes you just wrote in your notebook. Now looking at what you wrote, come up with a mission statement and put it everywhere. Your phone wallpaper, your bathroom mirror, your refrigerator.
